March 13, 2019Designated Indiana Kids Cooking School
Did you know Sprouts Cooking School is the only designated Indiana kids cooking school? People from around the Indianapolis area, as well as state wide, from Fort Wayne to Evansville, visit us. We’ve even had students come as far as the surrounding states of Michigan and Illinois to take our cooking classes for kids. At our Carmel, Indiana location, we host single Sprouting Chef classes, 4-week workshops, camps, birthday parties and special events for children 3 through 13.
Our mission is simple. We desire for every child to build a strong foundation for a lifelong love of cooking, to encourage families to get into the kitchen and cook with their children and to empower the next generation of foodies.
By getting children into the kitchen at early age, we nurture basic culinary skills through hands-on experiences and guided instruction, all while using kid-size kitchen tools designed especially for little hands.

Hands-on Food Adventures For Children
We believe it’s important to feed curiosity and that hands-on food adventures and cooking classes for children can begin as early as three years old. At this age, children are beginning to understand their surroundings, establish relationships and are teeming with curiosity and questions. It’s an ideal time to introduce them to cooking in the kitchen. From an early age, they will develop an affinity for food and trying new things.
We love nurturing adventurous spirits in the kitchen. Cooking is a remarkable outlet for people of all ages. It’s a great way to express creativity, learn life skills, understand nutrients, explore with senses and stretch your palate.
Anthony Bourdain once said, “Food is everything we are. It’s an extension of nationalist feeling, ethnic feeling, your personal history, your province, your region, your tribe, your grandma.”
Across cultures and time, cooking and meal sharing are universal mediums for expressing fellowship, hospitality and strengthening bonds.
Have a 6 – 13 year old aspiring chef? Our Junior and Tween 4-week workshops are a great way to further hone cooking skills and to nurture your child’s adventurous spirit in the kitchen.
