We often field kids cooking questions such as, “What does a typical class look like?” or “Do I drop my child off for class or do parents stay?” or “How do I teach my child to cook?” We have curated all of our most frequently asked questions and provided answers for you on our FAQ page.
A typical Sprouts single session class is two hours long. Our classes combine hands-on culinary experiences with guided instruction. Sprouting Chefs will measure and combine ingredients, work together in a group setting, develop their palates with new and exciting flavors, and get their imaginations working. Kiddos will have fun making and tasting delicious recipes in the Sprouts Kitchen and will be proud to show off their new culinary skills for their family at home!
Please bring a LABELED water bottle for your child. We do all of the grocery shopping, classroom setup, cooking prep, and clean up! All you need to provide is your Sprouting Chef!
Sprouts Cooking School strives to provide a safe, interactive and exciting environment for students. Our hands-on cooking classes for children provide guided instruction in a group setting, where kid chefs and bakers learn the fundamentals of cooking and grow their culinary skills.

All single session classes for children ages 3-13 are drop-off. If you would like to take a class with your child we offer family fun cooking classes for adults and children ages 3+.
Students are divided into 3 age groups. Tiny (Ages 3-5), Junior (Ages 6-8), and Tween (Ages 9-13).
Sprouts classes are for children ages 3-13. Our family classes are for ages 3+.
Yes, we do. Available dates are limited to when the studio isn’t otherwise booked. If you have a Brownie or Girl Scout troop, a moms group, or if you simply want to schedule a class with a group of friends, you can absolutely contact us to schedule a private event! We require a minimum of 12 students to book a 2 hour private cooking class at $59 per child. Please email email@example.com for more details.

Here at Sprouts, we are unique in that the food for our classes is ordered well in advance of each class, and we also purchase that food (as well as staff our teachers) based upon the number of children participating in each class. Additionally, we have limited space for each of our classes, so once a spot for a class is sold, that means someone else can’t purchase that spot and we are unable to re-sell spaces effectively. Due to these operational costs, the fact that our food is perishable, and that our classes have limited space, ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.
For cancellation policies for a Sprouts class, camp, birthday party, or MemberChef® program, please see the individual policies outlined below.
In the event any Sprouts class, camp, birthday party, or MemberChef® program is cancelled for reasons beyond our control, including but not limited to inclement weather, natural disaster, pandemic (including due to COVID-19), government-issued order and/or insufficient number of participants, YOUR REGISTRATION WILL BE CREDITED TOWARDS A FUTURE CLASS, CAMP, BIRTHDAY PARTY, OR MEMBERCHEF® PROGRAM. WE DO NOT ISSUE REFUNDS.
Individual Classes. We are understanding that kids get sick or that plans may change for unforeseen reasons. If this happens and you expect to miss a single session class, we require that you provide Sprouts with WRITTEN notice to firstname.lastname@example.org forty-eight (48) hours prior to your missed event. If you have to miss an individual class, and you have notified us within 48 hours, you will receive a credit. We will keep the credit of your purchase on file until the end of that calendar year. This amount can be applied towards a future camp, class, or any other event. However, please note that if you need to change to a different class, for any reason and regardless of notice, you will be charged a $15 change order fee for each single session class purchase.
No-shows and/or cancellations within 48-hours of the class CANNOT AND WILL NOT be credited as food will have already been purchased, we will have already staffed for the event, and we are unable to re-sell the space effectively.
Camps. We are understanding that kids get sick or that plans may change for unforeseen reasons. If this happens and you expect to miss an ENTIRE camp (in other words, not simply 1 day, but all 4 days), we require that you provide Sprouts with WRITTEN notice to email@example.com two (2) weeks prior to your missed camp. Please note: we do NOT offer makeup days for individual camp days that are missed. If you have to miss an ENTIRE camp, and you have notified us 2 weeks prior to your camp, you will receive a credit, less the $50 change fee. We will keep the credit of your purchase on file until the end of that calendar year. This amount can be applied towards a future camp, class, or any other event. However, please note that if you need to change to a different camp or cancel, for any reason and regardless of notice, you will be charged a $50 change fee for each camp purchased.
No-shows and/or cancellations within 2 weeks of the camp CANNOT AND WILL NOT be credited as food will have already been planned and or purchased, we will have already staffed for the event, and since our summer camps sell months in advance we are unable to re-sell the space effectively.
Birthday Parties. If you have reserved a birthday party and subsequently need to reschedule the date, please provide written notice to firstname.lastname@example.org. However, please note that if you need to change to a different date for the birthday party, we charge a $50 change fee to change birthday party dates.
Any birthday party cancellations are NON-REFUNDABLE and NO CREDITS toward future purchases can be given unless we are able to book a party to take your time slot.
MemberChef®. MemberChef® is a members-only subscription culinary program paid by monthly automatic electronic payment (credit card or debit card). Monthly memberships will automatically renew each month at the same payment terms and billing date established at the time of enrollment. The subscription contract length for MemberChef® is 6 months. Any changes to the plan, or cancellation must be received in writing thirty (30) days in advance of next billing cycle or plan expiration date. It is the member’s responsibility to monitor membership expiration and renewal dates. Cancelation requests should be submitted to email@example.com and received thirty (30) days prior to your credit/debit card processing date or plan expiration date. Cancellation requests submitted within the 30-day billing cycle will result in a final payment drawn your your account on your established auto draft date. Once final payment has been drawn from your account, clients will have 30 days from the last bill date to attend the Sprouts classes. There will be no refund issued once a payment has been charged to your credit card.
There is a $10 penalty fee for no-shows for weekly MemberChef® classes. Missed classes for Tier 3 memberships will not be credited. Sprouts will not provide refunds retroactively for any cancellation requests. Sprouts does not issue refunds if you do not use your membership, nor can you carry over sessions to the next month if you missed a class. No exceptions.
Yes! Students will eat all the food they make in class. Sometimes, a food is new to a child but we practice a “no thank you bite” and encourage students to expand their palates by trying at least one bite of a food that is new to them.
Snow happens, rain happens, but we cook on! Unless there is a travel “WARNING” issued for Hamilton County, we will remain open and class will be in session. In the very rare instance that we are closed, customer purchases will be transferred to another class. If there is inclement weather and class is in session and you make the decision to not come to class unfortunately your purchase cannot be credited towards another class. We do not issue refunds.
